Coaching the Mirror

My trifecta happens December 25th through December 31st – Christmas, my birthday, and New Years Eve. This year instead of speeding through a whirlwind of activities, I decided to slow down, take a breath, and to coach... myself.I was determined to ask and answer some important questions about my 2015 and upcoming 2016.

As I stepped back and thought about my year, the overwhelming sense of gratitude for my good health struck me as I considered the vulnerable events that occasionally popped up to remind me of the brevity of life.

I took a heartfelt and soulful breath and pondered these questions:

  1. Where and how did I give of myself without an expectation for anything in return?
  2. What did I gain?
  3. Who did I need to forgive?
  4. How was my life impacted by not holding on to anger, hurt, and resentment?
  5. Who did I need to let go of, for their benefit and mine?
  6. How did I live my values? Where could I have done better?
  7. How did love show up in unexpected ways?
  8. What surprised and excited me?
  9. Where could I have extended kindness and chose not to?
  10. Where did I extend generosity and I was better for having extended myself?
  11. Where do I wish I had taken a greater risk?
  12. What opportunities was I resistant to exploring?
  13. What held me back?
  14. How will I use my passion in 2016 to have the year I want to create?

Now it is time for me sit back, reflect, recommit, and reinforce “my beautiful life.” I wish you the time for gratitude, and excitement of what’s to come in 2016.

All the best!
